With more than 40 years of experience in steam generation, power production, and utility infrastructure management, Bob is the go-to guy at ISES for all things utility. His experience includes operational and supervisory responsibility of large utility stations, as well as small- to medium-sized commercial and institutional facilities.

From 1984 to 1994, Bob was the Assistant Director of Plant Operations at Vanderbilt University. He served as Director of Plant Operations from 1994 to 2004. In his 20 years at Vandy, Bob developed, installed and operated a comprehensive utility system incorporating elements of distributed onsite electrical generation using steam turbines, gas combustion turbines, and diesel engine generators coupled with heat reclamation chilled water production. These integrated systems combined to produce more than $44 million in direct utility cost savings and cost avoidance.

As Vice President of Energy & Utility Systems at ISES, Bob is responsible for utility systems planning, infrastructure assessments, economic cycle analyses and technical training. He also provides system and component performance measurement and system failure diagnostics.
