Hurricane Katrina violently struck the US Gulf Coast on August 29, 2005. On September 19 and October 6, 2005, ISES Corporation teams visited Louisiana State University’s Health Sciences Center campus to conduct an Emergency Damage Assessment of four structures. The teams assessed and catalogued the extent of the damage sustained to the buildings and reported their findings and remediation estimates on October 7, 2005.

Findings recorded damage specifically caused by the hurricane, including cracking to exterior facing panels, extensive exterior door damage, complete destruction of numerous windows, destruction to pavilions, gates and fencing, subsurface water infiltrations, and extensive mold and filth requiring renewal of all applied interior finishes.
