PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY

Pennsylvania State University owns and operates two steam generation facilities, five major high voltage substations, domestic and sanitary treatment facilities, a storm water system and a natural gas piping network on their State College, Pennsylvania campus.
The office of Physical Plant commissioned ISES Corporation to conduct a non-destructive evaluation of the physical condition of these systems.
The objective of this assessment was to determine the remaining useful life of campus systems and equipment. ISES also identified, by priority, a list of project recommendations and cost estimates to develop a strategic plan for improving these physical assets.
The tasks associated with the performance of this analysis included an evaluation of equipment and systems physical condition and identification of systems/equipment deferred maintenance, capital renewal and energy conservation projects with estimated costs.
